The Party of England for Merseyside!
The English Radical Alliance (ERA) is a radical, distributist party for all the people of England. ERA was formed on July 25th 2009, with the Merseyside Branch being established a month later. Our prime aim is to counter the successive mismanagement of England and Merseyside by the major parties and offer a real alternative to the failures of capitalism and socialism, and the threat of extremism.
ERA shares the same concerns as many ordinary people across Merseyside. People that have been let down by career politicians and parties of all political persuasions. Can you honestly say voting for the other parties, left, right or centre has really changed Merseyside for the better?
We believe what England needs today is a radical alternative. ERA is the only political party that will deliver that alternative. We do not offer socialism or capitalism but a third option, Distributism, details of which can be found elsewhere on this website. We do not offer political correctness but a return to common sense and traditional values. We do not offer England on a plate for its sovereignty to be swallowed and the blood of our soldiers to be spilled, but independence. We do not want Merseyside to get a raw deal from central government with the people being ignored, but greater autonomy and locally managed services that are beneficial to the people of Merseyside and more importantly what the people of Merseyside actually want!
Nationally our guiding principles are The Ten Aims for a New, Radical England, which you can view in the policy section on this website. These aims are what bond us together and touch upon every aspect of life in England today. It is through these aims we believe ERA can deliver a better English nation, where ordinary people can make a contribution and be valued, where we are free of systems and alliances which are unfair to the people of England, and where power can be decentralised giving people a real say in how their communities are run.
We are not an isolationist party, and a new, radical England would play its part in the world. But this place would not be at the expense of the taxpayers of England or the lives of our soldiers.
Locally we want to deliver a Radical, New Merseyside, where local people can influence decisions with greater autonomy for Merseyside and City State or City County status. We are currently developing our Ten Aims for a New, Radical Merseyside - policies that will breath life into every community and make a difference to every citizen.
Merseyside ERA is not an idle party with officers sat behind desks or simply making statements on the internet. We are an active party keen to play our part in local campaigns activities, in the community and where it matters. We are there for Merseyside and the people of Merseyside!
